My mission is to provide evidence-based mindfulness facilitation/coach therapy that is personalized and compassionate, addressing the entire person—physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Dedicated to empowering individuals to live authentically with meaning and purpose, I aim to foster a deeper understanding of self. Utilizing evidence-based treatments and a holistic framework tailored to each client's unique needs, my approach promotes an authentic, productive, and vibrant life. The six fundamental values guiding my practice are Communication, Patience, Empathy, Trust, Confidence, and an Open Mind/Open Heart.
In my holistic whole-body practice, I integrate mindfulness, Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Recognizing the centrality of a healthy gut to mental and emotional well-being, I use evidence-based therapies for individuals with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other special needs. Backed by research, these interventions empower individuals to manage emotions, regulate behaviors, and cope with stressors. Mindfulness-based techniques enhance present-moment awareness, self-compassion, and overall well-being.
The foundation of my therapy lies in mindfulness intervention, promoting awareness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach facilitates self-compassion, gratitude, and a broader appreciation of life. Mindfulness aligns with key social work skills, enhancing emotional regulation and interpersonal abilities.
Mindfulness intervention aids in rewriting unconscious responses to stress through conscious breathwork, concentration, and addressing blockages. Shifting stress responses allows individuals to regain control over anxiety and unrest. The innate healing power within each person is acknowledged, and a holistic approach is applied to address physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects.
My therapy approach inspires and empowers individuals to succeed in a safe and caring environment. Through listening, evaluating, teaching, and supporting, a powerful partnership is formed to unlock unique healing abilities. Core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of relationships, integrity, and competence guide the practice. Creating a safe, non-judgmental, and inclusive environment is crucial for individuals with special needs to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Research supports the positive impact of gratitude practices on mental health. Our mindfulness practice fosters gratitude and appreciation by immersing in the present moment fully. Feeling grateful inhibits opposing emotions, creating a positive shift. In challenging times, finding small things to be grateful for becomes a powerful tool for cultivating resilience and well-being.
